2023-07-28 03:31:39 +0000 UTCFun story about the power plant you passed by at around the 5 minute mark, it's the one that flooded during Superstorm Sandy! The East River was flooded all along Avenue D and even hit up to Avenue C. This knocked out power below around 34th street for days. On the lower east side/east village area closest to the plant we didn't have power for like 5 days. I remember going back to school and they had us do grief counseling because of how extreme the situation got. Really cool to see you exploring an area that I grew up in!
