1,000 Patrons!!!

Hey everyone! Between prepping for the Saturday concert, editing videos, and just trying to comprehend what the achievement is here, I've yet to actually write this post!

1,000 patrons is just really hard to fathom - I feel like I don't do a ton of in-your-face advertising for this Patreon besides the credits roll, which I just consider to be really important for giving you all the credit you deserve. But 1,000 people is significantly more than a lot of other Patreons I see, and from much bigger channels! It's incredibly humbling to have this much support for what is, in the grand scheme of things, a small channel.

For those who don't know, I do work at a Real Job as well, and the income from that is enough to sustain daily living costs; because of that, though, it means that the money from Patreon can go entirely toward trips for videos! The LA bus trip (whose video I still need to start editing...), for example, wouldn't have been possible without Patreon, and while I probably spent more on that trip than the video will make in ad revenue, I can rest easy knowing that it's effectively already paid for itself from here. I also have some awesome trips planned this August, and there's obviously more to come! It's very freeing knowing that money isn't really an issue, and when people request things like a trip on the Alaska Marine Highway, it's amazing to know that I can actually fulfill that (of course getting vacation time is still a pain, but the Marine Highway will definitely happen at some point!).

So seriously, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the support you provide on here. It allows me to (hopefully) bring you the best content possible, and with any luck you feel like you're getting your money's worth with the various perks on here. If there's anything you think I should do to celebrate 1,000 patrons, I'm all ears! I'm not good at planning celebratory videos or streams, so I leave it to the crowd to figure something out ;)

(also a while back Jeremy and I proposed doing a 100-patron livestream, which I promise we haven't forgotten about! We need a free Friday but it'll happen!)

It probably won't happen until next summer at the earliest, unless I wanted to be REALLY crazy and ride it in the winter...

I just got back from vacation in Alaska and oh my god I need the AMHS video right now, I love my cities but I've become obsessed with Alaska and its very unique transit system. Juneau has a surprisingly not-terrible bus system for being a city of only 30k too.
