Love all this Canadian content! I’m excited to see more! Mtl has some weird transit, I love the subway with the rubber tires like in Paris. It was always confusing and fascinating to me to use rubber instead of metal.

2024-10-02 20:46:29 +0000 UTCI think the spur already existed because that’s how the Mascouche line got downtown. Regardless of what happens the threat of closing the commuter lines has motivated a lot of petitions to keep them open, so people want good train service.

2024-09-19 05:33:55 +0000 UTCWhat angered me the most about the threat to shut down the commuter trains is the Cote-De-Liesse REM station was specially designed with 3 tracks to handle the transfer of commuters from the Mascouche line to the REM to get downtown. If they shut down the Mascouche line it will have cost us so much money for very little service

I think it would be pretty cool someday if they built an international commuter rail to Burlington, VT… but of course getting Amtrak to make that connection first is a higher priority (and it seems like MTL has some stuff to figure out as far as commuter rail goes first too!).
