Behind the scene, Footwear

First of all, thank you so much for supporting me. Your contribution means a lot to me.

I have been dabbling a little bit on how to make 3D footwear. This will be a long term project and I expected to be able to produce various footwear models by next year. I will still mainly do clothing but will occasionally do footwear.

The biggest challenge is that resources on footwear making is scarce. I also has no real world experience.

I always believe in mastering the basic. In footwear making, the basic is:

1. foot anatomy/measurement

2. shoe last

3. footwear patterns

4. footwear construction.

I already grasped the anatomy part, because believe it or not, I graduated medical school. So I'm currently studying shoe last. Check out the shoe last I just finished on sketchfab (like the picture above). You can find the obj file in shared folder.

I plan to produce various shoe lasts specific to sneakers, boots, high heel etc. Unfortunately, instruction on how to make shoe last is really hard to find. The shoe last shown is based on Motawi book. I made them using Freecad, then refined in Blender. The last will later be imported into Clo to construct the pattern around it.
