Added 2025-05-26 09:16:21 +0000 UTCI also tried it on myself. The waistband is a bit loose on me because when making the pattern I intentionally loosen it slightly because the manikin does not have the elasticity of real flesh.
This is the tutorial that I follow to sew this. The pattern is not the same, but I use the same technique to sew the waistband and the elastic. Like him, I use a serger and twin needle to sew most part.
I also include the inner crotch part because many tutorials I watched have them. I put some notches along the elastic and leg opening curve. This is so that I can align them correctly because the elastic is 10% shorter. Many people figure it out manually later, but I prefer to measure it using computer.
The leg opening has 1.3 cm (1/2 inch) seam allowance which a slightly bigger that the 1 cm elastic that I use. This is to take into account the thickness of the elastic when the fabric is folded.
