happy accidents
Added 2025-04-17 09:41:06 +0000 UTCYesterday, I got reposted on a film feature page on instagram and remembered that when I took that photo, I actually took two back to back. Carter and I were at an arts festival and went in the sauna. I had my camera with me (a waterproof canon prima as-1) and when we got out, I wanted to take a photo in the mirror. I took the photo and then realized I hadn’t wiped the steam off of the lens, so I did so and we took the photo again. When I got the photos back, it was obvious which was the better photo. The first photo, with the steam, came out with intrigue, the form of two bodies melting into each other in the mist as the steam created a vignette around us. The second photo however, is awful. Maybe not awful on its own, but in comparison, it strikes me as awful. It’s a reminder to keep experimenting and making mistakes, they might end up better than expected.
