It's a funny little gag, in which he and <Thursday's character redacted for spoiler reasons> share a tradition of going to the track every Christmas. I feel in later seasons these two would be replaced by a more familiar character delivering a variation of the same joke, but it's season one baby! No rules in place yet! Or at least, very loose rules.
This kid has a weird nose.
