0116 - Bleeding Gums Murphy

Murphy is actually somewhat similar to Dr Marvin Monroe in that he appears more than you might think throughout the show. He has two "headline" appearances, in "Moaning Lisa" and "Round Springfield" (in which he dies), but he also sings the national anthem at a baseball game, as a judge in a talent contest, and he is immortalised in the second version of the show's intro:
and even in a live-action version of this intro, done as a Sky One advert here in the UK several years later:
(The "Krusty" on the screens here looks terrifying.)
I've seen claims that Murphy appears after his death in "The Joy of Sect" and in the mob scene in The Simpsons Movie, but I have gone through both with a fine toothed comb and cannot find him in either, so I am not yet ready to start a great conspiracy that he faked his death.
