0154 - Snowball II

Snowball II appeared long before this episode, with a "line" even, in the first episode:

But I'm including her here because of the little noise she makes in Bart's stealth sequence, and also because it seemed wrong that Santa's Little Helper had an entry but not the cat:

It took me years to get the joke that Snowball II is named after a white cat, Snowball, but is black, so her name makes no sense. It's a thinker, at least when you're 5.

If you're a classic-Simpsons-only viewer, you might not realise that Snowball is canonically dead! In the season 5 episode "I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot", Snowball II dies and is replaced with Snowball III, then IV, then V, who is then renamed II to keep things neat and tidy for the viewer. SO remember, if you are watching an episode after season 15, that is NOT Snowball II. Well, it is. But it isn't. Shhh.

Snowball II is mainly used for visual jokes, often in the background. It is never confirmed if she recognises a visual representation of dignity,
