And of course, it is far more recognisable than most of the characters that we even cover here, appearing in the town square of Springfield. I think if you were to ask a random fan to name Springfield locations, this statue would come up pretty quickly.
The decapitation of the statue is the most famous thing about it, so much so that Jimbo and Kearney recreate it in the HD intro, despite their disgust at it in The Telltale Head:
