0223 - Judge Roy Snyder
Added 2023-05-25 08:00:01 +0000 UTCI said that Kent Brockman was the last major character of the season, and I stand by that. I know everyone here knows who Judge Snyder is, but I think most casual viewers would not even realise that there is a consistent judge in Springfield.
As with many characters, Judge Snyder's skin colour fluctuates a lot early on, and he is white in Krusty Gets Busted:
But unlike many characters, his name also shifts a little early on, as shown here in "Bart Gets Hit By A Car":
But eventually his identity is cemented and eventually he is established enough to have specific jokes about his lenient attitude towards crime in Springfield, in season 13's "The Parent Rap".
Any comment on America's legal system is usually better served by the lawyer characters, so Snyder himself often fades into the background of the show's many courtroom battles. But he is responsible for one of my most quoted lines, one that I barely even mentally register as a Simpsons quote when I use it:
It's from "Bart the Murderer", in case Harry Shearer's powerful line read is not instantly familiar.

I’m disappointed with your dedication here, it’s clear to me just by reading this post that Judge Moulton and Judge Snyder are two different characters, and you decided to ignore that just to draw Snyder.
