She is never seen again.
There are some good jokes in the first of many courtroom scenes, but a lot of the more memorable wacky antics in the Springfield justice system come later, once certain lawyers are introduced into the cast. I also suspect the OJ Simpson trial of 1995 sparked a lot of comedy writer's imaginations - had the prosecution of a celebrity been written after that media frenzy, I think this whole trial plot would have been bigger and more ridiculous.
