0303 - Nina Skalka
Added 2024-02-05 09:00:01 +0000 UTCThis girl is a fan...well, "favourite" seems a bit strong. But she's a fan acknowledgement at least, I've seen people say they like her design. She's one of two children who does not seem fussed about Lisa leaving Springfield for Capital City, along with Janey.
Her most memorable appearance is as a potential sock thief, in season 3's "Lisa the Greek":
But the fact that she is very consistently a student Springfield Elementary means she pops up all the time, usually as part of a crowd, and sometimes even with a line, such as this moment in season 15's "Milhouse Doesn't Live Here Anymore":
Over on the Simpsons Wiki they go into detail and some speculation on her various more significant appearances, this is more detail than they usually go into with these minor students. I feel like people love doing Nina research!
I booted up Virtual Bart for the Mega Drive to verify her appearance there and not only is that accurate, but I suspect it might be where her full name comes from, I cannot find an earlier instance of it:
The only other thing really worth mentioning is that Nina is most often a member of Bart's fourth grade class, meaning a two year age gap between her and Lisa, making their lack of a significant friendship seem less tragic.
