I've given the most important characters a prime spot at the front here. I don't think we'll see Tony Bennett again, but his milestone of being the first celebrity to voice themselves is huge. I think Larry is the MVP, even if most people couldn't name him.
What did we learn from "Dancin' Homer"? Not much about baseball, that's for sure, I feel like less of an expert on sports than ever. Although I did use the term "MVP" in the last paragraph, so maybe I do know some things. We've settled into a good groove with season 2 where all of these episodes are solid, but every time we have less ground to break. Capital City is a big addition to the lore of the show, although it won't come up again for a while. This could also be considered the first 'Homer gets a job' episode, unless you count "Homer's Odyssey" (which I would say is a 'Homer gets HIS job' episode.)
You would expect a baseball themed episode to have a high NCHC, being one of the few sports to have a hat named after it, and this episode does not disappoint: 40.9% is the highest NCHC we've seen so far, and I don't see any other episode topping it for a while, unless season 23 heavily features some hat convention or something.
I'm glad to be done with a sports-related episode as it is not my area of expertise. All that's left is to look ahead and see what the next episode is...
A golf episode?!?!?!?
You've got to be kidding me.
