0391 - Moses

It's almost unfair when these larger than life historical figures show up in this project. I came here to learn trivia about the squeaky voiced teen or whatever, now I have to research one of the cornerstone Biblical icons?

In the Old Testament, Moses freed the Israelites from slavery, and jotted down the ten commandments from God. You probably know who Moses is, and if not, you can read all about him, or join Bible Studies, or watch season 10's "Simpsons Bible Stories", in which Moses is portrayed by Milhouse:

In terms of his relationship to The Simpsons, Moses makes a few more appearances. He can be seen in Bart and Lisa's Sunday School in season 4's "Homer's Triple Bypass":

He's played by Todd in season 6's "A Star is Burns":

He is played by a pickle in a Veggietales parody in season 15's "The Fat and the Furriest" (I suppose this will count as a separate character when we get to him):

And can be seen in Krusty's idea of Jewish Heaven in season 26's "Clown in the Dumps":

He gets saved by Terry the time-travelling terrier in Simpsons Comics #110:

And he's even a character in Tapped Out! There are a few Biblical figures in Tapped Out, presumably because they are very public domain.

His appearance in many of these are at least partially based on Charlton Heston's Moses portrayal in The Ten Commandments (1956), especially the robe:

Milhouse doesn't bear much resemblance to Charlton Heston, though.
