In its true form, the yarnling doesn’t look much different than any other inconspicuous piece of yarn. In its deep desire to experience – or at least observe – emotions, however, it has the peculiar ability to move as well as mimic any other similar-sized creature. A yarnling’s intentions are usually far from evil and by no means is it motivated by ill-wish. Nevertheless, the yarnling carries a malicious curse, potentially bringing doom to the ones, it befriends and admires. Once it finds a place to indulge in joyful company, the yarnling often refuses – or simply forgets – to change back from its false form.
The yarnling was made in collaboration with Maschenlumpi!
Maschenlumpi has been a dear & kind-hearted friend of mine from the very beginning of my critter creation journey on. His Amigurumi are too cute, amazingly well done and some include 5e creature stats! Several of his Amigurumi – including a mindflayer, two heartbolds, a droplhorse larva and a thistling – actually sit right here on my desk - keeping me company during late night painting sessions:)
In this regard, it is my absolute honor to finally have worked with him. He made a crocheting pattern so you can create your very own Yarnling – be sure to check it out!
