Hi Zak! We have a 7 month old sheepdog poodle mix(Sheepadoodle). Your books and videos have been such a huge part in my success and relationship with Sammy as I have always heard the “leader of the wolf pack” type of training. My question for you is, I take her on walks around 5am and then leash train her in the afternoon. I have noticed that she stops pulling just long enough for me to say “good girl yes” and give her a reward. As soon as the treat goes into her mouth she runs forward and starts pulling again before I have a chance to turn around and walk another direction. It seems she is only interested in doing what is “correct” when she wants a treat and I feel like I have to reward her to let you know she is doing a good job. I have tried to withhold the reward for a longer period of time, but she gets uninterested and then goes to pulling again. Have you ever had this situation and if so what do you do? Do you have any advice on how to correct this? Thank you!
