2025-06-25 05:02:28 +0000 UTCOkay, this is a very interesting enemy and so much is going to depend on how desperate or confident it is. Because the way I see it, there's two questions which make a huge difference. 1) Can this apparatus make more corpses? Is this a Bind Corpse ability, where animal or partial humanoid remains can be used to create new full humanoid corpses? Or does this only work on existing full corpses? If it's the latter, then this apparatus has already expended more minions than it will be able to replenish. 2) Is this apparatus confident, desperate, or on autopilot? Does it know it can be rewarded by killing other apparatuses? If so, it might already have enough power stockpiled to absorb the damage from a new soul shard, which could give it unexpected flexibility in a moment of crisis. Is it desperate? If it's running on a finite number of difficult to replenish minions and surrounded by hostile cores on all sides, it may be attacking simply what it perceives to be its weakest neighbor. Or if it's fully in the memories of some inflexible military commander it might not even be thinking this through. And these don't come together to create an array of possible opponents this apparatus could represent. If the minions are difficult to replace, that might make it desperate and cautious. But it also might be looking to confidently move on from a depreciated power by getting the points for a new cannon fodder minion type, in which case it would be totally willing to throw every single one of them into the meat grinder. But if its dead are replenishable, and it believes it can navigate the storm well, it may be more willing to settle in for a siege. Or just willing to slam into our apparatus and either win or move on. If it's on autopilot though, reenacting long ago battles, it may just lash out with full force regardless of how intelligent that is. There's just so much that needs to be learned about this enemy.
