Kitbash Asset
Added 2019-01-02 10:18:37 +0000 UTCSince I have a bit of time in between where I can't record but want to do something productive I started to apply an idea I had a while ago.
I assume you all stumpled about a kitbash pack at some point. A library of finished modelled elements that allow for some quick blocking of shots or even detailling of models.
There are alot of free and paid libraries out there with different qualities. But most of them have something in common. They are static.
What if you could control the output of the kitbash.
For example - these are some sci fi cables you can find out there. Really nice and detailled.

But maybe these are slightly wrong for your purpose. Maybe the angle is just a bit off to work for you.
So the idea is to create an asset that has the tools for creating a kitbash set from scratch. Place smaller elements on target points, make controlable boolean cuts, create detailled geometry according to curves.
It is still in the concept phase but this could be a helpful addition for the railsystem once it goes into creating more detail.
A first version with the first basic tools will be available for the Dev Team soon.

Besides small elements like screws, cables I want to be able to create various panels that could be used in the corridor generator I created for pluralsight.

What do you guys think? A dynamic kitbash library. Would that be useful?
Cheers
David
