Hey lovely people of my Auditorium ;-)
I wanted to ask you guys about something while giving you a bit more information what is to come. Just to refresh your memory here is the introduction video
https://youtu.be/rkNhtrDTTy4
In the "timelapse" video where I change the height of the rail you can see what chapter 1 will create so far. I am about to do a batch of recording for a big chunk of it.
Now these are elements of it so far:
- prepare geometry according to terrain and curve
- superformular as rail with additional shaping
- place tunnel where rail is under terrain
- simplistic modelling of carriers expecting a point where to place it
- create vex support system to calculate right places for different carriers (simplistic modell)
- bridge system (when is a bridge needed)
- procedural modelling of a bridge that combines terrain and rail
This already packs quite alot of information and a system in place that is able to make these decisions dynamicly. But I was wondering if there is something missing...
Something to top it off. Something to make chapter 1 complete. Ideas I have...
- system that builds high voltage distribution near to the rail with wires connecting to the heavy towers
- currently the rail is on one level and changes according to the height over the terrain - I could add an option to have sections transition to other levels - the train design then probably has to take that into account in another chapter
- create additional geometry to separate the rail more from the terrain - a lattice system or a more solid approach - here an image that inspired the thought

Of course I am open If you want to add your ideas or if you think something I mentioned should be in the course.
The opinion that this is already enough for chapter 1 is also a vaible option. :)
