Basemental Drugs 2.1.0.90

First of all, I am currently working on a rather extensive new addition to the mod, that I am not going to disclose any details about just yet. Just know that it will be a lot of extra fun. It might take a while to get it ready (even to a basic state), but even though my main focus is on that, in the meantime I'll of course manage to get some regular updates out as well.

How it works

I have slowly started looking at overhauling the cannabis part of the mod, and what better place to start then with that pesky curing / opening weed jars.

If you have a lot of uncured buds in your Sims inventory and a lot of weed jars out and about. Simply click on one of them and start curing whatever strain  you want, your Sim will autonomously start curing all available buds in your Sims inventory in all available jars.

When the jars are done curing this works in the same way as just described, click on one of the jars and select "Open". Your Sim will autonomously start opening all of them.

Note: Do not use CC shelves for this, as it might not work flawlessly. Try to use EA shelves or general surfaces.

Cheat Commands and Settings

I have spent a bit of time reworking this to include some more options.

First of all, you can now "Disable Autonomous Drug Use for All Sims" in your Settings menu. This global "off" switch is something that has been requested a bunch of times for a really long time now.

Now for the new cheat commands.
To access them, type "basemental.cheat_list" or simply "bmd_cheats". This will provide you with a full list of all available cheat commands.

The new commands:

basemental.global_disableautonomy - Disables autonomous drug use for all Sims
basemental.global_enableautonomy - Enables autonomous drug use for all Sims

basemental.reset_highlevelclients_cocaine - Resets all cocaine high level clients
basemental.reset_highlevelclients_amphetamine - Resets all speed high level clients

Note: If you use the reset high level clients cheats, it will affect ALL high level clients in your save, so if you have several Sims in the same game with different clients they will all get reset, so you will have to re-add them on all Sims.

Other

Having worked in this mod for almost 2 years, there is of course some spelling errors here and there that I have missed out on. I approached JamJars (some of you might know him from doing support on both my Discord Server and MCCC), and politely asked him if he would like to proofread that boatload of String Tables. As luck would have it, mostly due to him being awesome, he accepted. So, all String Tables are now proofread and fixed. Thanks!

There are no Italian translators there. There are a few other translators for other languages, though. I am sure they can help you out if you want to translate it yourself, is what I am saying

I love this mod so much, I just wish there was more cannabis related objects. Like different and more elaborate bongs, hookahs, and I think adding dab wax would be cool too. Even adding cigarettes would make it more realistic. Vapes would be an awesome addition too, it would be interesting to add a 'smoke shop' and teens would have to get fake IDs to get in - get arrested if a cop is near bye. etc

There are no Patreon translations in italian AFAIK, you are always more than welcome to create one, though. Head over to Discord and I am sure some of the translators in there could help you get started

Your opinion matters of course. First and foremost, selling to kids and kids using drugs is not and will never be a part of the mod. I like the idea but it's way too finicky an implementation. What would determine that an elderly is in chronic pain or not? And why would your rep not go a much down in the eyes of on-lookers that do not know this elderly if they see you selling to them, compared to if they see you selling to an elderly without any chronic pain issues. I might factor age into the reputation gain/loss equation eventually, but you would also need to account for a lot of stuff here. Teens selling to teens shouldn't give as bad a rep loss (if someone sees you doing it) than adults selling to teens and so on. As it is right now your reputation will take a hit if people that aren't cool with drug use sees you selling drugs openly, so it's already an implementation, the problem is to make it too specific as it poses too many tests and potential problems.

Not sure how much my little opinion matters, but a feature I'd love to see is a consequence in reputation for selling to kids, teens and the elderly. Now that being famous is a possibility, why not be an infamous drug dealer. In theory it would go something like this, selling to a needy elderly member of the community to help with their chronic pain, rep goes up in a positive way. Sell to wayward teens at an bar, rep goes down. Sell to kids, and rep goes WAY DOWN. Just a thought. Also selling weed to teens wouldn't be as bad as selling cocaine.

Dark Web is only present at your Sims home lot. Nothing has been changed with that since last version. Reason being that if you try to order something on a computer off your home lot it won't actually arrive in your Sims mailbox. Weed is not supposed to give you hangovers. Cocaine on the other hand will. I can doublecheck this, but it certainly should give you that, as it always has in the past. Nothing has been changed here either. Not sure what you mean with the buffs making you feel bad. Are you talking about the addiction buffs? Addiction debuffs should definitely not be happy sounding. Almost exclusively all of the buffs you get from doing drugs when not addicted are worded in a positive manner, so I am not sure I get what you are saying here. Not sure what you mean bout putting drug dealer buff in a lot, either, you need to explain that one to me. The Styrofoam cups are indeed in hidden objects and are supposed to be ordered online. They have always been in hidden objects, in this version and the last one. Now, for the Shaman. Do you mean that you assign a Shaman with the NPC chooser but a random one comes over every time?

Hey. Trading sex for drugs is already very much a part of the mod if you have WW installed. As an addict asking for drugs from a dealer or as a dealer asking clients to give up some booty. It is however not possible to do this interaction if you are lovers or romantic interests with a drug dealer, even though your Sim is an addict as that really doesn't make sense. I might make some discounts or a cooldown period type of "ask for free drugs" in this scenario instead. It's not a bad idea. In terms of manufacturing drugs, manufacturing cocaine would take a whole lot more than using a science table and is not something I'd ever implement for the sake of realism. Meth would work with a science table of sorts, but is not on any immediate to-do list.

I love all of your great work! I wanted to run an idea by you. Would it possible if your sims had a romantic relationship with a drug dealer, they could get free or discounted drugs. same with woohoo or sex from WW if you did that, the dealer would give yuo free drugs. Also I was thinking if it would be possible for sims to make Meth or cocaine on the science table. I hope to hear from you!!!

Ready made as in pre-rolled joints/blunts? Or just ziplock bags with cured buds? If the former, no, the latter; yes. But you need a dealing skill of at least level 3 in either of the drugs to access the dark web. If you don't have that you need to acquire your drugs from your CAS assigned drug dealer

The other day I noticed I had 80+ unopened jars and even more uncured buds in my inventory. I just sighed and was like maybe I'll do that tomorrow. I would dread curing/opening each jar one by one that I just kept putting it off for future Revy to deal with. With this update my inventory is finally clear. I have so many bags now I'm just giving it away like Oprah but with weed. Thank you so much for this update!

I'm okay with it not working completely with cc shelves anyway due to my sim having a baggie and curing room anyway. and i normally only have a single bag on my sim at a time. One thing I found quite immersive too is I have a gas station lot that's owned by another sim, as retail that I put a bunch of the fillies and smoking papers in that they can buy from. Instead of having to order online constantly or go into build mode every time.
