🍃 Tobacco Cultivation

Click on any planter to purchase a packet of Tobacco Seeds and plant the seeds as you would a regular plant.

Harvest the plants whenever they are harvestable and so on and so forth. It is a plant, I am sure you know what to do with plants. Give them love and care and talk to them every once in a while when you think no one is listening.

How To Make The Harvested Seeds Smokable
For starters you would need a drying rack. The easiest way to get one is from the Convenience Store that comes with Basemental Drugs.

Just click on the travel tab on your Sims phone and select Convenience Store. They will head into town to purchase stuff.

Purchase a drying rack or two and place them on your Sims lot. With at least 15 harvested tobacco seeds in your Sims inventory, click on the drying rack and select "Dry Tobacco".

The drying rack will fill up with leaves and after a while they will be dry and fetchable for curing.

How To Cure The Leaves
Just click on the drying rack when the leaves have turned brown and select "Fetch Dry Tobacco".

This will automatically place the dry tobacco in curing jars for you which you can either cure in your Sims inventory or on a shelf or a similar type of surface.

After a while the curing is done and your Sim can either choose to collect the tobacco as rolling tobacco or dipping tobacco.

How To Use The Product
If you want your Sim to use their own homegrown rolling tobacco, make sure they have rolling papers or blunt wraps in their inventory. Click on the rolling tobacco bag and select "Smoke Cigarette" or "Smoke Cigar". This will deduct one paper or wrap from your Sims inventory as well as deduct one dose from the rolling tobacco bag.

For dipping tobacco, simply click on the box and select "Use Dip".

Do I Have To Grow My Own To Use Dip?
No. You can purchase other brands dipping tobacco and rolling tobacco from convenience stores or tobacco dispensers.

How To Sell Tobacco
In order to sell your homegrown tobacco, whether it is dipping tobacco or rolling tobacco, you need to get a hold of some cardboard boxes you can pack a lot of it into. Again head over to the aforementioned convenience store and get yourself a Tobacco Cardboard Box.

Once you have 60 unused bags of rolling tobacco or 60 unused dipping boxes in your Sims inventory, click on the box (placed in the world) and select "Pack Tobacco".

Once you have packed the box you can either sell it through your computer, or if you have the Horse Ranch EP you can sell it directly at the grocery store in Chestnut Ridge, or to the Mysterious Rancher.

🍾 Moonshine

So... you want to start making some moonshine, eh? Best get your gear ready then.

How To Mash and Ferment Ingredients
Head over to the Convenience Store that comes with Basemental Drugs by clicking on your Sims phone, go to the Travel tab and select "Convenience Store".

Purchase the Moonshine Mash Bucket and the following ingredients: Flaked Corn, Crushed Malted Barley and Sugar. Place the bucket on the floor or any surface, and with the ingredients in your Sims inventory, click on the bucket and select "Mash Ingredients".

This will mash all ingredients together and start the fermentation process. The longer you ferment the mash, the higher alcohol content. A low proof moonshine will not get your Sim drunk quite as fast as a high proof moonshine, there will also be other additional buffs to go with the different proofs.

Be wary when fermenting though, if you leave it for too long you will have to discard the mash.

How To Distill The Mash
Purchase one of the Moonshine Still's from the aforementioned Convenience Store. Place it anywhere in the world. Make sure you have a bucket of fermented moonshine in your Sims inventory. Click on the Moonshine Still and select "Start Distillation".

After distilling for a little while you need to discard the foreshots and heads before continuing the distillation. The foreshots are the first vapours to boil off during distillation, usually containing unwanted compounds like acetone, methanol, and aldehyde volatiles. The heads contain a high percentage of low boiling point alcohols and other compounds such as aldehydes and ethyl acetate. This is why the heads and foreshots must be discarded.

What we want however is what's called "Hearts". Which is the desirable middle alcohols from the spirit run. After bottling the hearts and colleting the bottles you could start thinking about how to sell the stuff.

Selling Moonshine
Just like with tobacco, you need to pack the Moonshine Bottles into a cardboard box that fits Moonshine Bottles. head over to the yet again aforementioned convenience store and get yourself a Moonshine Box.

Once you have 10 unused bottles of Moonshine with the same ABV (alcohol content), click on the box (placed in the world) and select "Pack Moonshine".

Now you have two options in terms of selling it. If you have Basemental Gangs installed and you know a gang member you can sell directly to them. Otherwise you need to get over to a bar and befriend a bartender on duty.

Once your friendship level is high enough you can click on the Bartender and select "Sell Moonshine" as long as you have a packed cardboard box in your Sims inventory.

Raid Risk and Moonshine Crafting Skill
Once you have sold Moonshine you will be on the law enforcements radar. If you keep up a high volume production (without taking a couple of days off ever so often) and high volume sales without laundering your money through a retail store, you will get visited by the SWAT team. They will confiscate your Sims stuff and take them to jail.

The Moonshine Crafting Skill will for the most part net you more bottles per spirit run, but will also give you higher prices when selling. The higher your Skill Level, the higher the cash-out.

To make sure this mod works you need to download the updated Basemental Drugs venue list provided in this post. I recommend installing this venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List. I also recommend updating it whenever there is a new mod version out as I constantly add in new custom venue compatibility from other mod authors.

Choose one of these 2 installation methods. Not both.

Basemental Drugs Installer (WINDOWS ONLY)

• Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.*
• Download this Basemental Drugs.exe file.
• Run the Basemental Drugs.exe file.
• Choose which Optional Packages you want included.
