If Ellen DeGeneres was a cis white male....

I wouldn't say it's the same today. I can agree that white men in power have near amnesty, but modern history alone tells us that a strong allegation alone is enough to lose favor among society. Topple that off with incriminating evidence and you have seen many a powerful white male go down. I find it impossible to think that a white CEO calling someone a n*gger in 1979 would have had the same impact as today. Especially when social media has been doing a good job of publicly displaying what would normally be private behavior.

I do miss them next to eAchother.... and the floor. But mainly the chemistry when they are together...

I hate to say it but I agree. Y’all are the best, but bring back the creaky wooden floor where you’re next to each other physically if at all possible. Stronger posts imho that way. Something gets lost in translation with the streaming and mics and separateness…

When it comes to just plain old bullying from above of the people below you, I do, for sure. It kinda feels like you're comparing people called out on sexual misconduct-style power abuse to people just being assholes because I'm having a hard time even thinking of a man who was forced out for just not being nice. That said, on the sexual misconduct thing, many women played that game too and built entire careers on being willing to go to the casting couch so I think if those rules are changing, maybe the fair thing is to give everybody's past behavior amnesty and just set a new expectation for eveyrone going forward.

Cis white males have been shitty to people for decades without consequences. I don't like Ellen, but if she were a cis white male with the same amount of power people would just expect her to be shitty but it would be called "demanding" and "perfectionistic." Look at Dr. Phil. That guy is a prick. When I worked in film I saw male executives shit on subordinates regularly without even getting any kind of backlash, but women who did it were crazy power hungry bitches.
