First of all I want to thank all of you for your continuous support and that you have been patiently waiting for this one. This has been way more work than I anticipated when I started working on it, not to mention a boatload of testing to ensure that everything works as intended with all four gangs.

🎲 Gambling Racket

Setting It Up

First of all your Gang leader needs to be at level 10 to be able to set up your illegal gambling racket. If you are at max level, talk to your Right Hand Man at your leaders headquarters. Click the Information menu then "How To Purchase Illegal Gambling Venue".

Then you head over to the world, find a lot and assign it the correct gang Casino Venue lot type, and edit it so all the required objects are in place.

Make sure gambling is Criminalized in the region you are building your illegal casino.

Head back to your gang leader, talk to your Right Hand Man again, click the Rackets menu then "Purchase Illegal Gambling Venue".

Hiring a Casino Boss

Now that you have purchased the illegal gambling venue you need someone to run it for you.

Click on the Gangs menu on your gang leaders phone to hire a friend to take care of business for you. This can be a gang member, family member, or a friend that isn't affiliated with any other gang.

Once you have hired your Casino Boss you have everything in place. If you are controlling corners or have extorted businesses your enforcers are already giving you a cut every Friday. With the gambling racket in place they will give you a lot more on top of that.

Running the Casino

Switch control to the Sim you hired as a Casino Boss to run the casino.

Just click on your Casino Boss's phone, go the Gangs menu and select "Run Illegal Casino". Note that you can only do this from 8PM at night.

Running the Casino will start a goaled event with random goals. These include:

• Bribing the Cops

• Telling dealers to cheat

• Borrowing money to customers

• Telling bartenders to water drinks

• Collect money from various sources

Most of these are self explanatory, and will come with additional notifications in game to let you know what to do.

Police Busts

The cops can break up the party if you don't spend Simoleons bribing the cops every night. Bribing the cops will cost you 5000 Simoleons and can be done through your Sims phone.

It may seem tempting to skip it, but there's a high risk that they will come in, bust you and confiscate all the gambling equipment.

Pay Your Dues

Every Thursday the Casino Boss will receive a visit from one of the gang enforcers coming to collect that weeks cut that will go directly to the boss.

Make sure you have a decent amount of Simoleons saved to make sure the enforcers treat you alright.

Borrowing Money to Customers

Whenever you borrow money to customers make sure to click on the Gangs menu on your Sims phone the following day to collect the Simoleons. Your Casino Boss will then disappear for a bit to meet up with a gang member to collect the cash. With interest.

Oversee Gambling Operation

When you play as your gang leader (not the Casino Boss), you can click on the Gangs menu on your Sims phone after 8PM and click "Oversee Illegal Casino".

This will have your Sim visit the Casino on a goaled event where you can get various treats and bonuses.

New Opportunity

Once you have your racket in place and the Casino Boss is hired you will also get access to one more opportunity from your Right Hand Man.

The opportunity is running from your gangs headquarter and involved the Casino Boss.

Visit Illegal Casinos

Regular Sims that aren't affiliated with any gang can also visit illegal casinos. Just click on your Sims phone and go to the Gangs menu, click on "Visit Illegal Casino". It is available from 8PM every day, that is if you have any illegal casinos set up in your game.

👮‍♂️ Get Out of Jail Free Card

The opportunity where you help out a sketchy politician comes with an additional perk now. If you are successful when helping him out he will make sure that your next trial will be skipped without any repercussions.

Prior to the trail you will get a phone call from him where he lets you know that the trial is dismissed and that you guys are even now.

Venue List

To make sure this works you need to download the updated venue list provided here. I recommend installing the venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List

If you already have this Venue List installed from the previous version of drugs you don't need to reinstall it.

Choose one of these 2 installation methods. Not both.

Basemental Gangs Installer (WINDOWS ONLY)

• Delete all the old Basemental Gangs files from your Mods folder.*

• Download this Basemental Gangs.exe file.

• Run the Basemental Gangs.exe file.

• Delete your localthumbcache.package

* If you installed from the installer previously, you can delete the old files by launching the file called unins000.exe in your Basemental Gangs folder.

Basemental Gangs Zip (WINDOWS OR MAC)

• Delete all the old Basemental Gangs files from your Mods folder.

• Download the Basemental Gangs zip file.

• Unzip the Basemental Gangs zip file.

• Place the files in a folder titled Basemental Gangs in your Mods folder.

• Delete the Basemental Gangs zip file.

• Delete your localthumbcache.package

NOTE: This mod is an add-on to Basemental Drugs, and it requires Basemental Drugs to work. It also requires the Get To Work expansion pack.
