Basemental Drugs 8.18.234

Got a new version of Basemental Drugs ready for you all today! This one isn't a patch repair as the patch luckily didn't affect any of my mods. This is rather a proper update with added features, improvements, and some bug fixes.

PRISON
When calling an incarcerated family member, your Sims will now gain friendly relationship with them, making it easier to maintain the relationship while they are locked away.

If the family member is a love interest, they can now make a conjugal visit. You will find it under the Drugs tab on the phone. The Sim will travel off-screen to the prison and return in a good mood and with added romantic relationship to the incarcerated love interest.

AWAITING TRIAL

You can now have your Sim awaiting trial talk to their family member about the upcoming trial. The family members reactions will vary depending on their mood and general friendship towards the Sim initiating the conversation.

LIFE AFTER PRISON
When a Sim returns from jail now they will have less options when applying for a new job. A bunch of jobs like, lawyer, police officer, etc. won't accept Sims with a criminal record.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Most of these are self explanatory when looking at the change log, so I don't want to go into the details of all the improvements here. But, they should all make the mod feel like a smoother experience. Quite a few of these improvements are in fact suggestions made by you guys in the #suggestions channel on the Discord server, and some I stumbled over when cleaning up my code base.

As for the cleaning up of the code base, this has taken quite some time and is something that's been long overdue. The main reason I haven't gotten to it sooner is that I knew it would be time consuming and it is not necessarily something you as a player will notice when playing with the mod. It is primarily to improve stuff like load-order safety, maintenance, readability, fewer potential mod conflicts, better back-end error reporting, fewer lookups and cleaner memory behavior. So, all in all... boring but very important for the future healthiness of the mod.

I hope you enjoy the update and I am looking forward to get back to working on some of the bigger projects I have temporarily put on hold for this mod!

Venue List

To make sure this mod works you need to download the updated Basemental Drugs venue list provided in this post. I recommend installing this venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List. I also recommend updating it whenever there is a new mod version out as I constantly add in new custom venue compatibility from other mod authors.

Choose one of these 2 installation methods. Not both.

Basemental Drugs Installer (WINDOWS ONLY)

• Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.*

• Download this Basemental Drugs.exe file.

• Run the Basemental Drugs.exe file.

• Choose which Optional Packages you want included.

• Delete your localthumbcache.package

* If you installed from the installer previously, you can delete the old files by launching the file called unins000.exe in your Basemental Drugs folder.

Basemental Drugs Zip (WINDOWS OR MAC)

• Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.

• Download the Basemental Drugs zip file.

• Unzip the Basemental Drugs zip file.

• Place the files in a folder titled Basemental Drugs in your Mods folder.

• Delete the Basemental Drugs zip file.

• Delete your localthumbcache.package
