What's amusing is that the woman who told the transman that he's emitting feminine energy, was mad emitting masculine energy herself.

I did not claim that men never have to worry about safety; I said that, on average, men feel more comfortable walking around alone (especially at night) compared to women. I think most people would agree with that in a general sense. It is true that men make up the majority of murder victims worldwide. It's also important to contextualize that information. A large percentage of those deaths take place in the context of gang violence or war. This is qualitatively different from the type of violence and harassment that women are statistically more likely to experience. For example, women are far more likely to be killed by a former or current intimate partner compared to men. It's really important to distinguish between different types of violence when we discuss statistics and larger social trends. What is your source for those numbers? I have read statistics from credible sources that reveal a more significant gap in prevalence rates. I would recommend going to RAINN's official website for more information. RAINN goes into great detail about how sexual violence disproportionately impacts young women, especially those between the ages of 18 to 24. The FBI is another good source as well.

Interesting discussion with this one. When it comes to the point about safety, I think there is still something to be said about the sense of security that men feel walking down the street alone (especially at night) that women simply don't get to enjoy. We have to be more on guard and prepared for harassment than men, which shouldn't be discounted. There are also specific forms of violence that disproportionately impact women (sexual violence, stalking, etc.) and that needs to be part of the conversation as well. Also, shout out to Preach for pointing out that it wasn't long ago that women were basically never believed when they made accusations. Believe Women hasn't been a societal slogan for a long time at all. One might argue it is an over-correction (when taken literally and to the extreme), but the idea that women have had a long-standing privilege in that area is just patently false.

I agree, the issue at hand gets lost in fallacies. We need to learn to recognize fallacies, but logical reasoning just isn't taught anymore.

The guy that didn't want his daughter to be drafted- does his opinion change is she is trans? You know, if she "becomes" a man?

I also think part of the reason the men were so reserved is because they were speaking to women and for them to be more aggressive would have been them imposing their beliefs on women the same way white people try to tell black people what they can and cannot find offensive.

Looking at the group of anti-feminist women is actually the perfect example of how these sub groups and movements function. The DUMBEST one with the most AUDACITY tends to be the loudest. They speak over everyone, argue points that no one made, and center their beliefs over everyone else’s in the conversation so that anyone in opposition is forced to debate the stupid and least articulate nonsense that has now become the face of the stance, rather than engage in useful debate with the more sensible parties who rarely get the opportunity to speak- or when they do speak their points are immediately stepped on by the new dumb face. It’s happened with the men’s activists, the feminist movement, blm, MeToo, trans-activists. Some of the most intellectual of all of these spheres are having to combat ideas from some of the most unintelligent amongst the group but because most people lack intelligence and refuse to do due diligence, they absorb radical nonsense as education on said sub group rather than doing the work to interpret information and process it themselves. Most people today walk around regurgitating ideas someone else pulled out of their ass but when someone has processed information and formulated ideas on their own like two of the women who were seated there, it’s easy for them to respond to the topic at hand.
