okay, here is the next page. this scene definitely feels a little superfluous, but at least works for more believable pacing. i felt like people would enjoy frankie if they've been reading the comics for years, and the next "scene" is slated to happen within the same time frame, ie. kim finishes the conversation with frankie, walks into the day room and sits down, and this is the next scene.
i don't even know what else i have to say about this page lmfao, i am so disoriented by my nocturnal sleep schedule currently... i should have added an extra panel after panel 2 to clarify that lupe gives kim the drawing and walks away, but it's more work than i have the time and energy to do, and i do think it's a jump a competent reader can make on their own. there are a few sloppy choices here, and that's definitely one of them, though.
another small detail: initially, the cobra staff member was the one taking the art supplies from diana in the background. after sketching the entire page, i realized this created a continuity doppelganger, as he's also the one escorting frankie. i thought i didn't have enough character designed for the night staff to have anyone manning the desk, then, and redrew the staff member in the background there as extremely generic and vague as i could. then, i remembered the hyena nurse is one of the first late shift staff members i've drawn, and she does station in this wing, so now she is in the background there instead, albeit very vaguely.
