this scene possibly, besides touching on frankie's perspective of being institutionalized, is introducing the concept of ward quality, or the idea that not every single ward is as bad as this one. i am very aware that a lot of people have positive experiences with wards, or at least neutral ones -- some people have positive and negative experiences based on wards. they are not very standardized in terms of care delivered, so this varies drastically by individual institute. hopefully this adds a little touch of realism as much as it is a callback to some of drop-out's canon.
i realized in this page that the cobra's hood is supposed to be tucked into the shirt to make sense too, so there is a weird mix of simplified hood shape and more bent up hood.
the length of time of frankie's stay is around 15-16 days -- the average length of time people stay in wards, if an average can ever be extrapolated.
i've been lining and coloring for 7 and a half hours, so my brain is very fried, so i think that's all i have to say!
