patreon

Podcast/Spotify version of videos?

Ok - I think i've figured out how i'm going to go forward with uploading my videos as a podcast, too.

For $5 Patrons and up - when i upload my video on youtube the audio of the video gets posted on patreon straight away once the video goes live. 1 month later - that video will get posted publicly on spotify and all the other places for podcasts. This means that there is still value for patrons that are interested in having the .mp3 but also puts my work on other platforms eventually.

That's how i'd like it to be I think - now, the issue of "what happens to your old uploads?" still exists. Ideally i'd like to have my public podcast uploads a month after my youtube uploads ... so a weekly thing. So maybe I could start ... as a test by uploading my past videos for a while and see how things go? - treat the first couple like a test and if it works out ... incorporate this into my main workflow.

what do you think about that? useful or no?

If you do go this route, I would also suggest adding something to the end of your videos mentioning "exclusive abc content now available to my patrons on xyz platform". I would also suggest reading this before the listing of patron names, as most people probably click off at that point (unless they are waiting for their name, at which point they would theoretically already know). I can say from experience these kinds of things work, as it got me to sign up for Nebula to watch a specific companion video from another creator. (Edited to add line breaks)

Howdy, just pledged and have a similar question - Would love if being a Patron allowed me to listen to the SCP audio without yt ads. An RSS Link for podcast apps would be an awesome benefit. Was also shocked to see only 275 patrons despite how good the content is. I'd really recommend creating an additional patreon exclusive episode per month and then releasing them (12 episodes) in bulk to Youtube on New Years Eve each year. You'll have an uptick in patrons, allowing you to spend more time creating content or doing what you enjoy and it won't paywall the SCP community of your incredible content (as it gets released publicly in a batch @end of year). The mass release will probably encourage more people to sub once they see what they were missing. Love the work man, take the suggestions with a grain of salt.

Did this happen? Can they go on Stitcher, too?

Podcast format makes so much sense to me. I signed up just for this idea.
