Hey guys! 🫡
I wanted to share a little devlog with you all and give you an update on how things are progressing for the next release. 🚀
First, let me explain the new workflow I've been using. The development of each update is divided into 3 main phases:
Rendering and Image Processing 🖼️
Writing the Script and Dialogues ✍️
Coding in Ren'Py 🖥️
Previously, I tackled each of these phases one at a time, fully completing one before moving to the next. What's the issue with this approach? 🤔 Well, it meant that a finished product was only visible after long, tiring production cycles. It also felt mentally exhausting to focus solely on one type of task for weeks on end.
After discussing this with a friend who’s a developer (a real one, haha 😅), he suggested working in sprints instead. This means dividing content into individual events—which I was already doing—but now approaching each event as a self-contained, finished mini-project.
For example: I take one event, render and process all images and animations, write the script and dialogues, and then immediately code everything into Ren'Py before moving on to the next event. ✅
This new workflow allows shorter bursts of different activities, providing regular milestones, more manageable deliverables, and hopefully preventing delays and creative burnout. 🌟
So far, it's working great! I've already completed the first event for the upcoming update and am actively working on the second (each update typically has around 3 events on average).
Oh, and one more thing… here’s the first teaser for the next update! 🤯
I hope you're as excited as I am!
Thank you all so much for your patience, trust, and incredible support. You’re awesome! 😎✨
