Commissions During Break 5: "Worn Out"

Arrow offered to let me post some of my work from the Kaerwyn plot "Worn Out", one of our many transformation themed plots that we run for players. I'll let Arrow explain it:

Hi, Arrow again!

Today's a selection of pictures from a plot Jakkal ran in Fall of 2022 called "Worn Out". Now, often plots are offered allowing people to sign up and volunteer, and Worn Out used this. However, early-adopter characters had relatively little information on what they were signing up for, other than that it would be a Yet Another Transformation Plot (YATFP). Characters were submitted with a list of animals, Nathan was my 'early submission' character.

The plot turned out to be Jakkal's take on the normal clothing-shredding trope often used in TF stories and art; characters who were affected by the plot would transform at various times to a new form, and no matter what they ended up as, their clothing would end up unservicable from the transformation, thus the plot name.

After they finished transforming, they would be mentally compelled to go to a specific tailor shop in town, "Sew Be It", to get their clothing repaired, and purchase new clothes to fit their new form.

Two of the pictures above are for this, Nathan as a dromaeosaur anthro, and Nathan as a silver dragon anthro, helping another affected character, Ezra (who belongs to Mutt), with his pipe, since Ezra smokes a pipe.

After a while the characters figured out they were being manipulated a bit, and started working together, particularly regarding the appearances of several strange 'altars' around the town that only the transformed could see. They started searching these out, and had to locate each of 8 altars around town, and challenge them, each time being thrown into a new scenario and having to come out on top.

After five altars, Endymion and Tunc were incapacitated, and the remaining three altars fell to the remaining PCs to handle. The sixth was in a warehouse full of mirrors. Challenging it led to a poem being recited to the characters.

"Moving Swiftly, Bleeding Light,
Can't be seen, Nothing in sight,
Moving Forward, Left Behind
Shadows clash, fighting blind.
Chiral visions, lead the way
Visible echos, save the day.
See yourself, not as you are,
Looking glass, avatar."

Nathan at this time was a minotaur, and the challenge here was that there was an invisible snakelike monster that appeared in the warehouse to attack them. It could only be seen by looking in mirrors and seeing it indirectly, or by people who got thrown into the mirrors by the creature's attacks. Teamwork was needed between the characters to keep enough people in the mirrors to see it and communicate, but not so many that there was no one left, and those who were trapped needed to communicate where the monster was to those who weren't stuck yet. It was a pretty intense fight.

Jeremiah (belonging to Rykker) was another character in the scene, as a wolf anthro. The last picture is Jeremiah biting the snake to finish it off.

After the fight was over, everyone was released from the mirrors and the warehouse faded, leaving them in a dilapidated building. All an illusion, but they still had two more altars to solve...

And I added in a picture of Endy during the plot, as a Lupogryph, and the resulting torn up clothes from it.
