WHEN PREDATORS LIE - PODCAST #25

The old adage of "believe nothing what you hear and half of what you see" can especially be applied to online predators who lie after getting caught. Some of their excuses can be totally illogical and quite humorous!

WHEN PREDATORS LIE - PODCAST #25

Comments

I literally believe in the same believe none of what you hear and only have what you say unless it’s the chat log because the chat log doesn’t lie

Katie Show

I've been talking about robbing the bank months prior, I bought a gun, a facemask, I went in and pointed my gun to the employees, then the police came and arrested me. I never actually robbed the bank, I just wanted to point out the weakness of the security system, so why do you handle me as a criminal? If this argument sounds shitty in this context, it is shitty.

Attila Balogh

Disgusting!! The “mom” is part of the problem! I had all girls. If I had a son and he got caught doing this the cops would be the least of his problems. The intent was there. Unbelievable!

Lynn Bickle

How can anyone buy the argument that, “I went along with the whole thing just to talk her out of it..”. ? That’s kind of like someone breaking into your house, then using the excuse “I only went in there to warn the homeowners of the faulty lock on their door; I wasn’t gonna steal anything, honest!“

Zach NEEDS to narrate an audiobook

Sad that the mothers are in such denial, I have sons myself and I'd never let them get away with this garbage.

Nikki LeMaire

Just because he hasn’t done this before doesn’t mean he’s in the right for doing it now, regardless of him bsing he was being lured he still was trying to fuck a minor. I think more officers should do sting operations like this and catch them before they get to an actual child

Alicia

Is that gamer guy's bed in the background? lol. Both those dudes have a very Kennelly, from to catch a predator, demeanor about them.

The Sisko

Yup, he's certainly "a duck" 😉 Both of them are.

Irina

I'm confused as to how these dudes thought they could go on Dr. Phil and try to convince people that they're not a sex offender/pedophile/deviant when the evidence clearly proves the contrary. They have essentially advertised their sex offender status to the whole world with no added benefit to themselves. Now everyone knows exactly who to avoid LOL

Slow Loris

The mother is in denial. Her son is a deviant. He got what he deserved.

Truffles

Very well said. I speak of a lot of your points in the "Ethics of Sting Operations" podcast I posted awhile back.

Zach Sweers

@Xad To me, it falls under a preventative type of sting operation, similar to if a law enforcement officer goes undercover in a drug ring or dangerous gang, and they gather evidence of crimes that those people have done or are intending to do. Some people debate the ethicacy of an undercover agent in any scenario because of entrapment situations, but I think if a person is willing to commit violent acts, its better that law enforcement has the opportunity to step in before they can do it. As far as being arrested for planning a bank robbery, I'm not sure, but to me it seems like maybe someone should step in if someone is at the point of armed robbery, similar to the fact that you can be arrested for conspiracy to commit murder. I know in some cases, these predators may not ever have the intention of meeting up for sex with the minor, which is why convictions of soliciting a minor are typically only given if the person shows up to a location following a sexually explicit conversation that shows intent, hence this entire channels purpose; he always tries to catch them in person, and, even if the predator doesn't meet up, its important for law enforcement to have a record of whose these people are. Not only can it be a decent indicator that the predator may have child porn, which is its own charge, but if the same predator does eventually try to meet up to exploit a minor, there is evidence that it was not a one-time incident, it was not a little mistake, its a pattern of behavior that will make it easier to secure a harsher sentence. What do you think?

Yes. In my state particularly (Michigan), the law states: 750.145a Accosting, enticing or soliciting child for immoral purpose. A person who accosts, entices, or solicits a child less than 16 years of age, regardless of whether the person knows the individual is a child or knows the actual age of the child, or an individual whom he or she believes is a child less than 16 years of age with the intent to induce or force that child or individual to commit an immoral act, to submit to an act of sexual intercourse or an act of gross indecency, or to any other act of depravity or delinquency, or who encourages a child less than 16 years of age, regardless of whether the person knows the individual is a child or knows the actual age of the child, or an individual whom he or she believes is a child less than 16 years of age to engage in any of those acts is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 4 years or a fine of not more than $4,000.00, or both.

those guys are totally guilty. their moms need to get a clue. the experience has only showed them how to not get caught for next time.

Cherry Daniels

In my teens I would watch TCAP and I would always argue that the people on the show did nothing wrong. They weren't talking to an underage person, they didn't solicit sex with a real minor, etc. I just want to know how they can be convicted of a crime that technically wasn't committed. Can you be arrested for planning a bank robbery? Like you follow all the steps up to the point where you dont actually commit the crime. I get it some people are disgusting. Some guys are incels. Some guys are young and stupid. Some guys are being called sex offenders when they didn't actually offend anyone. I would love to have an open discussion.
