"my son is super smart, but he's also really young and naïve, a picture says 1000 words and he could tell that he was actually looking at a 24 year old just by looking at this really dark photo. But I just said he misses details easily, but my son could tell she was actually an adult woman because he can see the wrinkles on her forehead that are COVERED BY A HAT. Despite literally just being told the girl is actually 13. And she must have typoed her age yet again when they confirmed they were 13 years old a second time before meeting. And my son assumed this might all be a fantasy of the girl's, but he never bothered to get clarification even though he showed he was fully capable to request clarification with the initial age comment. " This woman really is delusional. Honey your son committed a crime the moment he proceeded to be sexual despite his "doubts" about the girl's age, and then agreed to meet them. "I'll run away if it's a child." What are you gonna do, ask for ID? If you didn't know her age from the photo, why would that change anything in real life? A teen could be 17 and potentially be mistaken for an adult 18 year old. You can't rely just on seeing them in person. I hope police don't ever stop these stings. I DO hope and agree with that they get funding and money so the people working on these stings get rightfully compensated and paid for their efforts. Even a bagger (Courtesy Clerk), gets money in exchange for putting groceries in bags, etc. Human effort is expensive, it's just the way it is. And in my opinion, there should be a ton MORE of these police looking into pedophiles because it's disturbing how many get away with it. Just like her son is trying to mislead the situation, this woman is trying to mislead by making it seem like it was a civilian sting. She probably knows that civilians get a lot of slack , and is trying to garner sympathy. But more than that, I think this is all about her, and how bad this will look on her. She is the one who raised a predator. This bug eyed "mom" is seriously standing up for a child rapist/groomer? And upset at them having to publicly be shamed by having their name on an offender list for life? Maybe instead of making excuses for her basement dwelling 20yr old son, she should stand up for the children that are abused, and hold him accountable. With a mom like this he might continue to think this behavior is ok, and graduate to a rapist/killer.

This was the best Podcast I’ve participated in. This woman is absolutely batpoop and I’m a little surprised your lawyer didn’t laugh in her face. Also surprised people are saying she had a good point at ANY point.. If someone tells you they’re underage, THEY ARE UNDERAGE. If you’re into age play, there should be a mature level of conversation and consent before participating in kinks, not after. I love these videos. They help shine a light on important issues. She was sloppy at the beginning with the defense of her sons case and the obvious lack of research about the laws. But towards the end she had a very good point, the media does sensationalize some cases and Not every case is productive, in terms of protecting children. I also think it’s valid that she said if people really care about protecting children, they would focus more of sexual assault cases, rather than cases like these. It’s true that neutrality and objectivity are integral in conducting an investigation and the ideal of due process. The same should be true with the actual court cases. But cultural biases do have an impact, and in Kathleens opinion, jeopardizes the integrity of the due process and puts more people in danger. The whole sentiment for the #MeToo movement is that sexual assault cases go unanswered for so long and action is not being taken against active criminals. You are able to poke wholes in her story but you can’t deny that some of her points are valid, without being bias. The fact that you and Kathleen are on such opposite pages means we have a lot of work to do to find the root of these flimsy investigations.
