Update on the channel and where your money is going
Added 2016-08-10 15:49:04 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I just wanted to give you all a quick update on the channel and where it is headed.
Religion For Breakfast has been growing slightly faster over the past 30 days. I expect we'll break 1000 subscribers sometime next week, which is super exciting! 1000 subscribers actually unlocks a few exclusive features from YouTube, so it is more than just a symbolic number. I'll be continuing with the 3 main playlists (early Christianity, Religion 101, and Magic/Science/Religion) for the foreseeable future. Once the Patreon support reaches our first goal, I'll feel comfortable to launch the next series on American Christianity. I hope to start a Shintoism series soon too since I don't want this channel to only cover "western" religions.
I also thought I owed it to you all to tell you where your money has been going. I've been rolling all of the Patreon funds into the channel. In terms of equipment, I bought new studio lights and camera equipment. I also plan on buying a new microphone soon as you can sometimes tell my audio is not the best. I've also been hiring graphic design help for my video thumbnails. Go check them out on the channel!
Again, I just wanted to thank you all for your continued support. As a graduate student living in Boston, I wouldn't have been able to get this far without your help!
