The Late Shamus Young
Added 2022-06-29 15:12:27 +0000 UTCShamus Young passed on June 15, 2022. He went suddenly into cardiac arrest after being on dialysis for end stage kidney disease for a few months. We (his wife Heather and his adult children) are currently working with Patreon hoping to continue the Patreon in order to maintain his site in legacy, as well as upload unfinished content, and provide for Paul to maintain Shamus' code on github or similar as opensource content for the community to use, play with, and possibly turn into something wonderful.

I joined the Patreon. I noticed that his blog is down today. If you are having trouble keeping it up, please just let me know how much you need and I'll donate as much as I can. His kind of critiques of the video game industry are very rare these days and should remain available if at all possible.

2022-10-25 07:03:38 +0000 UTCI have been reading Shamus' blog for the past two weeks and only now discovered that he passed away. I was so taken by his intelligence, knowledge of culture, writing skills and it was such a blow to find out that he is gone way too soon. It is so unfair.
