About the future of this Patreon
Added 2016-12-21 23:12:44 +0000 UTCSo folks, first of all, rest assured this Patreon did not die.
It does suck that it's gone almost the whole month without an update, but people seem pretty understanding, and I appreciate it. I think it's due to us all feeling the same way at this point in time, you know? 2016 was a rough year for just about everyone, and it ended about as badly as we could imagine.
It was already hard to work, but now we got "well, Nazis are literally taking over the country, what even is the point" running through our heads. Not that it's inappropriate to be worried... It's just something folks like me need to set aside when we need to get into "work mode". We pretend things are okay as we get out comics and games finished... and that, of course, is much easier said than done. But I'll have to try.
Having said all that, I'm wondering how y'all would feel if the Patreon went through a bit of a change, and it wasn't just my thing anymore. Which is to say, it'd be more a studio page which would still feature mostly my ideas, but would feature and reward the whole team involved.
It was sorta going in that direction anyway, with the recent Pet Elf pages being inked by Freeglass as well as the comics drawn by Mayeko that were posted in the past. The Patreon change would just make it more official, and hopefully more organized and frequently-updated as well.
Along with Mayeko and Freeglass, I'd bring in the Dungeon Panic team, as well as other artists brought in to help with Polly, of which I'll be putting a call out soon.
And I'd like to hire a manager/producer. I would not be in charge of everything myself, rest assured. Yes, may attention span... is a problem. :o
The money from the patreon would no longer go to me, but to a new account that will be split up based on invoices issued amongst the team.
It's just an idea for now.
