Venom chan blues, thoughts on the olympics and covid, and thinking about loneliness here

I do actually talk about idols in this one, somewhere in the middle of my rant about the Olympics and before the loneliness talks. Plus I make a plea to all of you.

Seriously, support Venom chan and Kunogi. It's something that I think is necessary for their future. Thank you.

Hey Derek, Japan did much to make the olympics possible… Okay. Most measurements made no sense at all except to make people get more grey hair. But hey. They finally started. The games will soon be over again And then hopefully they find a stable way how to deal with Covid in long terms. (Yeah i know… too optimistic. But hope dies last.) Regarding Venom-chan: A few months ago i was so excited to see Kunogi founding a new idol group. Back then i was a big fan of her and Michelle at Necroma. Her leaving was a big loss for me. Especially because she paused idol a while. The more i was happy she came back with an all new group. Thanks to the fact they often play in venues that stream their shows i even already can watch them on a regular basis. Their songs are great and it´s a pleasure to watch them. The only issue so far, they more or less were still unreachable for getting merch. But that´s finally over. I am so glad they now work with you together. Also i´m glad Okinawa Saya finds more international fans. She is an unique gem in the idol world. And it´s cool the management is very flexible and fast. The next month will be so much stuff you have. Your Birthday show. Mihos Cheki session, not forgetting their debut and new CDs. This will really be big. And last but not least: You asked for Horror Movies. One of my favourites always were the first four Hellraiser movies. They took Horror to a new concept back then. Stuff Clive Barker wrote in general does. The Candyman movie also was insanely good. But the masters of Horror in General… George Romero, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper … i could talk days about their Work. For Japanese Horror i started with the Ring Movies, followed by The Grudge. And from them basically any movie i could grab. Audition was an example where the movie completely made me forget the cover which made me buy it. It lured me 90 Minutes into a love story and the final 30 minutes hit me like a fist. Miikes best work. One Movie i also love is Sion Sonos „Tag“. If you had those nights, where you had a nightmare… woke up and instantly slipped into the next one… and again. That movie captured that feeling. Have a great week.

Ah, sorry, hit enter too fast... Here's more tips: -Make sure you check electrical plug outlets in Spain to see if they are the same as they are in the Netherlands. If not, you may need adapters. - Make sure you have a good, working phone setup in Spain, and check the internet speeds where you are living... these can be hugely important and make a difference in how you can get things done there. -Make sure you bring enough food/stuff from home for those first few months to really help you transition from what you are used to back home into the new environment. -Make sure you update all your documentation, including passport, driver's license, etc., before going overseas and living... these things became incredibly important for me to do while in Japan. -If you have somebody back home who can really help you if you need something sent over to you fast, that would also be good. -And last, remember to keep in touch with your family or those who love you. They will appreciate it a lot. Hope you have a good and safe move. I really hope for the best in this for you. I look forward to the day you can come here too... lots of love right back! D

Happy that you checked out my recent Patreon podcast. I don't seem to get a lot of comments anymore on these, but I do think people still listen to them, or so I hope. I put a lot of time into them, so I hope people appreciate them as I give an insight into the idol world that not a single other person on this planet is doing right now. So thank you. Venom chan will definitely be doing an online cheki session. The goal right now for this is September, since all my focus starting now is preparing for my birthday live event, and Kosame/Miho's debut. We have so much stuff that we are doing right now, so August is a break from cheki sessions and interviews. I have to really focus only on my birthday live since it is truly massive this year. As for moving... ah, that's too bad you couldn't come to Japan, but it's out of our hands right now. This bullshit pandemic is ruining everything. I hate it. So... in terms of moving to another country... that's hard to really give tips, since Japan and Spain are sooooo radically different, but generally speaking, I found the following few things to be useful no matter where you move internationally: - Make sure your credit cards/debit cards will be able to be shipped to Spain if you need to get a new card/etc.

Hi Derek! Trying to keep up with the podcasts. Even though I have summer holidays, I've been so lazy with keeping up with things, I'm sorry about that. You talked about horror movies and the Exorcist and oh boy that face is so scary! Never saw the movie but got plenty of jumpscares with the face from the Exorcist. I'm not really a horror movie fan but I did see the newest Conjuring movie in the cinema. It was just me, my sister-in-law and two other guests in that cinema! So crazy. Made it a bit creepier somehow lol. I'm so happy about Venom-chan on IU! Mostly because of Kunogi. I missed her a lot and it's nice to have better access to her merch and stuff now. I hope they'll do a cheki session sometime! A bit off topic, but I am moving to Spain next month since I'm doing my internship there. Initially wanted to do it in Japan but that became impossible with COVID. Do you maybe have any tips for a newbie in moving to another country? Feel free to tell me on LINE, or if you're too busy I understand too. Lots of love, Romy
