Hello!

I sort of took a looong break. My day job has been demanding and Ayva.js and Ayva Stroker Lite were...  a lot.

But I'm ramping up again and thought I'd give an update on where I'm at.

My surge of motivation to return to work on Ayva stuff lately probably has something to do with actually seeing a couple of patrons now (as well as watching stroker devices grow in popularity).

Reading about Tempest's work with SLR in the Discord channels has been really exciting! A commercial multi-axis device compatible with TCode will probably bring in a LOT more users.

Which means more engagement. More rewards for innovating. More ideas. More fun!

Here's what I'm currently working on:

Ayva WebSocket Hub is completely done as far as coding is concerned. This is an app I've been talking about for a looong time. The purpose of it is to allow connecting apps like Ayva Stroker Lite (or any other web based stroker app) to Virt-a-mate and/or WiFi. It has support for streaming to multiple outputs at once (Serial, WebSocket, and UDP). The release is just waiting on certificate stuff. I want it to be able to run on Mac and Windows without all the software warnings, so I'm purchasing the digital certificates. I also want the certificates to be tied to the company I'm building (Ayva Software) instead of my personal identity; so I had to get an LLC created. I'm currently just waiting for the paperwork to go through. Once that's all in place I will create a short guide and release the software. For now here's a screenshot of what it looks like 💙.

Ayva Remote
is still in the early stages, but I've started mapping out how I want to implement everything. This app will allow users to control devices remotely from a browser (mobile or desktop). Originally I was looking into WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication)—technology that enables web apps to stream data between browsers without requiring an intermediary—but I have decided that for MVP1 I will just go with WebSockets. WebRTC's primary focus is on video and audio, and the setup feels like a heavier lift for what I'm trying to do—just stream simple data. I may switch to it in the future if I put video or audio into the app, but for now I think I am going to let folx use other apps for that.

The ideas I have for the first iteration:

I want it to be extremely simple. Additional features for other types of control will come later. This will for sure be a Patron only app as I will need to host it somewhere and pay for the network traffic streaming the data between users. I'll likely make it another tier.

Currently I'm in the research and design phase. This includes learning how to integrate with Patreon so I can authorize users based on tier, looking into hosting solutions, experimenting with WebSocket performance, etc etc. It's a LOT of fun😊. I'm enjoying taking my time with it to make sure I do it right.

Ayva Stroker Lite—this app is in "maintenance mode". I don't plan to add any new features to it anytime soon. I will likely create a successor app in the future —available to Patron's only—and just keep Ayva Stroker Lite as a free version that only receives minor updates and bug fixes from time to time.

~

That's all for now! I'm keeping other projects in the back of my mind (Ayva Dance), but not actively working on them just yet.

I recently bought the ayvasoftware.io domain. There's nothing there yet, but that's where I will be putting all of my software going forward.

Thanks so much for your support! I can't wait to start releasing stuff again! 💙
