Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) PART 1 - Full Length Reaction WATCH ALONG

Well so far I am loving this and I've only seen the first 3 parts but I feel like so much has already happened. Definitely a lot of information thrown at us in regards to Steppenwolf, Darkseid, and the mother boxes and the purpose of the motherboxes. I loved the whole look of Steppenwolf I thought he looked incredible. His suit very was mesmerizing to me, not only the way it looked but the way it moved almost like feathers and this wave like motion. The effects on him just looked incredible.

We also got a some background information into other members of the justice league like cyborg, the flash, and aquaman. I really loved cyborg in teen titans from when I was a kid and I am loving him just as much in justice league. I haven't seen the Aquaman movies but I'm more than aware of Aquaman and who he is just based on some of the comic books I've read. Lots of really cool shots of him like when he was walking out on the pier and the waves came down and just enveloped him.

I am really enjoying this movie though so far and I can't wait to watch the rest. I hope you enjoy my reaction! PART 2 coming soon!

So have Amazonians had battles with Gods and Wonder Woman has even she fears what Darkseid can do at his full power.

Not entirely true. There was a comic where Thor and Thanos fought against each other, and Thanos, without the Infinity Stones, stood toe to toe with him. I believe the fight ended in a draw. And Thor is also a "God" and has himself fought against many Greek Gods before, so he's not exactly a pushover. Thor OR Thanos.

I agree it really is a work of art. Zack Snyder really knows how to make movies visually stunning and Justice League was no different. I was thoroughly impressed to say the least. Glad you enjoyed my reaction Chadwick :)

I saw that they had the GREY version I'm happy to read you enjoyed that version of the movie. I may have to check it out in the future for sure!

OMG no kidding!? I did not know that Ciaran Hinds was the voice of Steppenwolf I love that!. Thanks for the background on Steppenwolf and Darkseid I appreciate it!

Very cool I was curious about that. Seemed like they worshipped him just based on the woman sniffing his beanie he left behind lol. Ill have to lookup the lyrics you've sparked my curiousity!

Epic

I like the 4:3 aspect ratio. You are actually seeing more of the image in this case. It would have been used in IMAX theaters. The normal widescreen version is basically zoomed so you get less from top and bottom.

oh gods, not sure I have the fortitude to make it through these lol 1/2 TO 2 hours ok, more then that like the latest Batman is to much lol.

Deadly Mouse

I’ll comment again later on, but at the beginning the women were singing because the village sees Aquaman as a mythical being, who helps them. Like a God/Savior. So the song is literally a folktale lullaby the Icelandic people sing. Zack likes to depict his superhero characters as gods. I actually looked up the lyrics. Pretty cool.

The thing I love about a Zach Snyder film is that every shot is a cinematic piece of art. I would love to see him create his story boards pre-film. Thank God we are such noisy fans that the studio caved in to see “The Snyder Cut” and have this made…such a better story. The only time I’ve seen something like this was when we rallied “Firefly” to get “Serenity” made. Great reaction Lauren! Can’t wait for part 2!

He probably edited it in color. That is the version most people will watch so I don't think Snyder considered it extra.

@HalfMayn I super dig this version. I'd of liked for it to have been the definitive copy but it's all good, I'm happy to be watching it like this now. It honestly feels like I'm seeing more without the colors. I'm certainly enjoying it more.

Really happy that you've enjoyed the first half of this MEGA FILM!! I'm a huge fan of this movie. Like I said before, I'm watching the Justice is Grey version - which just means that the ENTIRE movie is black and white and it's damn clean. I really enjoy watching the movie this way. :) Sometime in the future if you're ever wanting to revisit this one, please check that version out, it's on HBO Max, like I said. :) I'm super looking forward to part two! It's going to be awesome, you're sure to enjoy it. :D

So the reason for this version, is that when Zacks daughter passed away, and he stepped away from the project to be replace by Joss Whedon,he took the reels of footage he had shot and was secretly editing it by himself in black and white. That's the version he saw for years and so he released a specially colour graded version as an extra thing for fans. At one point he was even considering releasing the black and white version as the definitive version

HalfMayn

I've watched this before - but I'm watching the "Justice is Grey" version of this. LUL, I was surprised when it began! I was super confused - thinking something was up with HBO Max, but nope! It's just a funky version. I'm sure that they have the usual version as well - I'm just wanting to give this version a shot. So far - seven and a half minutes in and I'm really digging it! They chose a quality movie to do this with. :) At the end I'll totally write my thoughts on this version when compared to the color version. So far though, I think that I'm preferring this! :)

Logan Kerlee

I'm glad this version got released on streaming in 2021. The studio would have never allowed it to be this long if it had been released theaters. The 2017 version was only two hours and had new scenes directed by The Avengers director Josh Whedow. It wasn't good.

Lauren, absolutely superb. Starting with Chapter 4 the train starts rolling fast. 1 through 3 is a lot of exposition, which was great. Loved your reaction to Steppenwolfs armor. It is quite hypnotic to look at. Yes, Victor is still grieving and Arthur is very angry with his mother (it's explained in the Auqaman movie). The Old God's battle was quite epic. So much more to come. This was a wonderful reaction for Part 1 Lauren. So looking forward to Part 2. So much Gold. Thank you. ❤

Just finished Part 1...loved your reaction! Some notes: - Ciaran Hinds, who played Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones, is the voice of Steppenwolf. - Steppenwolf is Darkseid's Uncle, and served as his general. He was banished from their homeworld (Apokolips) after planning a coup against him to become the new ruler. His punishment for this treachery is conquering planets within the multiverse, in order to get in his good graces so he can return home "You still owe the Great One, 50,000 more worlds!" This also explains why he wasn't present in The Age of Heroes battle. - Speaking of The Age of Heroes battle, Darkseid wasn't nearly as powerful as he is now. This is hinted by the following: - Ares being able to injure him quite easily. - Not wearing his vintage armour in battle. - His "Omega Beams" (which is basically a heat seeking version of Superman's laser vision X1000) hasn't taken effect yet. - Apokolips is located in the 4th dimension, which is outside of the multiverse, In other words, there is only one version of each Apokolipian. - The figure that is summoned and talks to Steppenwolf is Desaad. He is Darkseid's main advisor who counsels him on strategy and also serves as the master torturer. - As I've outlined above, the lore behind Darkseid and his Elite is very comprehensive and covered in depth in the New Gods comic book series, which I highly recommend you read at some point.... :)

JG

Fun fact: Thanos is a rip-off of Darkseid. Jack Kirby (who created both characters) was asked when he joined Marvel that they wanted "a Darkseid-like" super-villain to compete with DC. Well, the rest is history :) Also, without the Infinity Stones, Thanos probably couldn't even beat Superman. Darkseid, on the other hand, is a literal GOD and would spank Thanos' ass in a heartbeat! ;)

JG

Wait until you see Darksied and his inner circle!! And also at the end there’s a glorious scene you won’t forget. Watching it right now!! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️!!!!!

FranciscoGios

Darkseid wipes the floor with Thanos and he's much scarier

Anakin Starkiller

Lauren, as a Batman the Aninated Series fan, did you ever watch the Batman Superman crossover? It basically combined the two animated shows and led to the introduction of the Justice League series. So, if you haven't seen the series, when the JL first came to TV, the show did a whole bunch of 2-parters. One of which featured an Aquaman where in he had to make a very deep sacrifice. It is probably one of the best episodes in terms of emotional impact. Maybe we could add those old cartoons to your channel watches with Patrons. Not the big days, but maybe the small times you try to fill up an hour or so.

Wolf and Cub Gaming

Oh boy you're in for a treat with part 2, the first half is a lot of (much needed) setup, the second half goes nuts. Just for reference, the 2017 version had none of the backstory for cyborg and everything else was either completely changed or cut to almost nothing.Steppenwolf also just looked like a big old man in that version. Imagine finishing with BvS and just not having a conclusion that made sense
