Here's a little painting made from a photo I took on a hiking trip. This really fine moss was growing on rock surfaces in the forest, peppered with tiny mushrooms. I thought it was a really fun abstraction of the landscape. In ways, it looks like tree tops from far above in the sky, but it's not in reality.
I started painting this immediately in the cabin, but the technique I chose was labourious and then I got hit by a wave of winter depression when I returned...so this didn't get finished until next spring when I discovered it in my art pile. This painting was many hours of careful drawing with masking fluid.
This painting is only 7 1/2" square, which makes it super fun to print large-scale because it enhances the textures.
Prints & original art up on my website.
