Our Home 2.21.0

Hello! Let’s dive into version 2.21.0, focused on the main story.

As you may have noticed, this version came out a few days late. There was no special reason for the delay, but we simply underestimated our capacity. We thought our development schedule was in order, but I was wrong. We really needed more time to complete this version with everything we had planned, so that the next release starts as it should.

We realized how much Juli’s illness threw off our schedule. Now, all we can do is commit to working hard to get everything back on track.

In this update, our hero returns to the orphanage to talk with Amelia and better understand her relationship with Norah, as well as decide whether to help Samantha with the investigation. This part of the story is crucial for revealing Amelia’s role as a guardian. We’ve made sure the narrative flows smoothly and that the hero gets the necessary information to make his decision. Of course, each decision comes with consequences.

We’re also sharing a map with you to highlight how deep this episode goes. Some issues are only briefly mentioned, as it’s been a few months since MC left the orphanage. Our hero will give Amelia the necessary context in a montage with minimal dialogue, so that the focus remains on MC’s decision.

This version includes around 360 renders, similar to last month’s update, but with a deeper storyline. We estimate about 9,200 words, though I’m not sure how important that figure is for you. Additionally, there are approximately 320 dialogues, with an average reading time of about 25 minutes.

For players in free-roam mode, this event will trigger on Friday at 6:00 PM when you travel to the orphanage via the bus stop located in front of rent room. For those in VN mode, the event will be triggered automatically when you load the save or when you navigate through any environment.

With the release of this version, we’d also like to announce that, in a few days, we’ll open a vote for our $10 tier members, giving them the chance to choose which character will be the focus of the next three updates.

We’ve also made an important change for free-roam mode players. Previously, you could only skip time by 1, 2, or 3 hours. Now, we’ve added a selection for the day of the week and time, allowing you to fast-forward through time more quickly. This ensures that if you miss the exact timing of an event, you can easily fast-forward or rewind to the desired moment.

For those who prefer skipping hour by hour, we’ve kept that option available. You can revert to the original time-skipping method by selecting it in the SKIP menu, found in the preferences.

We’ve also made some changes to our development process, which will allow us to deliver the game in a smaller size without losing visual quality. You’ll notice that the "only update" of this version is smaller than the previous one because we rendered the images in 4K and resized them without losing quality. This was a pleasant surprise since we managed to deliver images with even higher quality in a much smaller size. This will help when our automatic update system is implemented, providing faster downloads and improving the experience for those who choose to download the full version.  Let's do this in the rest of the game as soon as possible.

Below are some previews of what you’ll find in this version.

Comments

First of all, we apologize for the delay in responding. We were fully immersed in this month’s release, so much so that we had to step away from everything else to deliver it as quickly as possible. But now we’re back and thrilled to announce that version 2.22 is finally ready! Regarding your question, yes, this is our first project, mostly developed by my wife and me, with the support of all the kind backers who make it possible. We were absolutely delighted to read your comment—it truly made our day! We work hard every day to improve, and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness and support.

I was wondering if this is your first project or if you have others. It's so well made, interesting, and interactive for a first project. I can't wait to see where to take it. Got a fan for life, also I need more Emily!!!! Lol

I'm sorry if I misunderstood the question. But I'll try to answer: since we release versions monthly, the difference between the full version and the update-only version is that if you download it every month, you would only need to download the update and apply it to your game, without having to download the full version again. This speeds up the download for you and helps you save bandwidth.

It’s says it’s the full version so is it?
