The Move

Sorry for the late (for me) update. I just got access to my internet today. My entire weekend was spent quickly moving from a place sold out from under us and to my new home thanks to a fortuitous mixture of luck, goodwill, and connections.

My entire body is sore. I'm low-key anxious at every step I take in this place because I feel like a stranger. But I'm here and I can earnestly say this is my home. And I love  my home. It's got a little porch. I got a gas stove I could use to cook on a wok. My living room is huge!

I'm living someplace stable. I don't have to worry about being one month from homelessness at all times. Trust me when I say that is an improvement.

I also released a new game earlier in the month!

Friday Night Event is a party game where you're playing wacky wrestlers with strange angles, using your time on the mic to try and "break" your opponent and make them laugh and crack a smile.

But what is next?

I have three big task on the docket.

Clear off the games idea board
Basically I want to take inventory of what is on the board, what I want to keep, what  I want to get rid of, and take inventory of what you as my paying audience are most interested in seeing from me. I don't imagine these will be more than blurbs but I would love to hear what you think of them. This will help me decide what I want to start putting through planning

Post An Outline of Initial Goals for Protect The Sacred
Debating making this one public, but this is just a clear outline of initial goals I want to accomplish and meet for Protect The Sacred. This include thematic cores, mechanical aspirations, ethics, and more.

These may not be where I settle by the end of it all, sometimes games end up folding out in directions you never even imagine. You discover new things about the  narrative and your own feelings, mechanics don't work out, limitations are discovered...

But it will stand for what I hope it to be at the beginning of development and an anchor to go back to when I feel lost. it was useful for me to have with Exceptionals.

Draft 4 (yes 4)
Basically it's one last pass at the Protect the Sacred notes before I start building out my outline and start writing. Rough mechanics and world building mostly. Untested estimates of numbers and rules without nuance. But it's vital given that this game is likely to be much larger than Exceptionals. Not to mention more complicated. If Exceptionals was meant to be a simple game to prove I could make games, PTS is my chance to flex. You're going to see what I mean.
