Update! Nicole Demara animation complete. VR rendering now!

Hey all! A bit of an abnormal update this one - The animation and sound production work for Nicole is complete. This is usually when I'd be rendering out the flat animation ready for posting tonight while the VR version renders, but this time I'm doing things a little differently, and there's a reason for that:

I'm very aware that on Sunday I'll be travelling to go and spend xmas with family (meaning I won't be home and back at my PC until the 30th) , and generally speaking, 6K VR animations take around 2-3 days to render. I know the majority of you are subbed for the VR content, so I'd be very sad if I rendered the flat animation overnight tonight, and therefore didn't leave enough time to get the VR version out before leaving for the holidays on Sunday.

So for the first time ever I've set the VR conversion rendering before releasing the flat version, to hopefully ensure I can get another VR release out before I travel for the holidays.

This raises a question: Why don't I always release the VR version first?

Answer: 1440p animations take hours to render, whereas 6K VR animations take days to render. When you consider that, and that I generally include an alternate view in a screen or a mirror, I always have to render out that flat alternate view before I can render the VR version anyway. This means I might as well render the alternate views, POV views, and therefore the whole flat animation first, and then render the VR conversion.

There's benefits to doing it this way too; sometimes when rendering out the flat animation I spot issues which I can then fix for the VR conversion. But ah well, this time I'm taking a risk and VR is coming first, just so I have the maximum amount of hours of rendering time before I leave for the holidays. I hope you all understand!

While it definitely sounds like you have some understandable technical reasons for rendering the flat animations before VR I do think in general prioritizing VR makes more sense. But quality control is definitely important.

I just attempted to see if I could get away with rendering the flat POV animation while the 6K VR version is rendering and my oldass 3090 seems to be coping! So I should be able to do a simultaneous release tomorrow.
