2025-02-27 20:23:05 +0000 UTCI was a very young teenager when this song came out; and yes, it was played constantly on the radio. I do remember, however, that someone recorded a song where they would play a stanza of the song and then explain what it meant. That was on the radio also. I've tried to find it but can't. I was singing right along with this video - you never forget this song!
