I had never been a particular fan of Nightwish, but this song and performance was pure beauty and so inventive. Loved every second of it. When you were searching for the word to describe how it felt to you, the word I thought of was "rustic", but I think your end result word is better for sure. Not sure why I thought of rustic, but it is what came to mind.

2025-05-19 19:45:37 +0000 UTCI enjoy it when a group or performer steps outside their prescribed genre and flexes their musical capabilities. That was quite common back in the 60s and 70s. I’m thinking about The Beatles transition from She Loves You to Let It Be, Bee Gees from pop to disco and singers like Dolly Parton who crossed over from country.
