Project Impact - A Sneak Peak on My Game Project in Unreal Engine

Yow Guys! So for the past few months, I've been mentioning how Busy I was with My unreal Project, I have been working on a game Solo for the Past few months now.

I wanna share with you a little Demonstration on The Core Concept, mainly the game's Combat System.

This System is Designed from the Ground up, I didn't want to heavily rely on Major addons and Components because I didn't want it to just be an asset flip.

If you've followed me for some time, you can see some of the Features in this Demo, I've implemented in Skyrim through my behavior mods,

A reaction system, Directional Combat, Directional Blocking, Reactions, Recovery System. These are the things I've always wanted to do in Skyrim but even with the amazing tools we have, I still get throttled with a few things, 

with Unreal Engine though, that limitation is out of the picture, and I finally get to  Create whatever I want in the first place and not having to settle with a workaround.

That being said, it still comes with its own fair share of problems, Bugs, Optimizing code, and Money to buy assets to get the feature you want; 

Honestly Making your own game is really expensive if you want it to turn out good. But it helps that Skyrim Behavior Modding was Full of Whack workarounds which I learned from trial and error and not from Documentation because there was absolutely no Documentation for that shit. In a way, I got used to it.

I'll make a more detailed video on how the system works, including player input, and Combat dynamics soon but for now I wanted to show you guys the general concept.

Full Control over where you want your character to hit your opponent with the directional Attack System but with Endless Combinations of Movesets as you can swap your directional attack on the fly.

Active Blocking System Known as Posture Mode - Most Directional Based Combat Games just focus on the One on One Combat, not factoring the chances of multiple enemies that might swarm you, With Active Blocking, You simply Hold the block button and move to the direction you want to go to switch your stance and exit that mode by simply releasing the block

This Type of Active Blocking makes sure Combat isn't a tedious chore wherein you just focus on the HUD Widget of the enemy NPC and then run the soonest you find a second opponent, Your Damage isnt limited to One target but rather, wherever your RayCasted Swings land on.

An Injury System, I'm a huge fan of Combat sports and Professional Wrestling Games and Loved the fight Psychology within those games, All Actors in the Game including the Player can sustain 3 Different Types of Injuries, if hit in any of these areas: Head, Core and Leg Damage. Each Injury leads to different debuffs and also allows you to pull off the next System which is what I've always wanted to do

Grapple System, functions similar to grab in Fighting Games like Tekken or Hellish quart, and sports games like UFC undisputed or SmackDown Vs Raw. Where you can ground and pound or perform a submission, or do a simple maneuver, the Grapple Type Switches depending on which part of the Enemy's body you choose to grab


As I mentioned, I'll make a detailed video on the controls, and how Combat dynamics are, Like Stamina, Health, Player Abilities and More on the Injury System soon.

But for now, this is a Sneak Peak for you guys to know what's cooking!

I've got a few things planned for Skyrim As well! And no guys, I don't plan to abandon Skyrim Modding, There's still a lot of content in skyrim that can be done and somehow once in a while, some new out of this world shit gets made which pulls us all back, including me, So expect more content to come soon!
