It's an idyllic lake resort where everyone knows everyone's business. That is, until Sheriff Marty Kesowich (Jack Davenport) is tipped off about an illicit film starring his teenage daughter Merel and her best friends Sonya and Jane. Before he can investigate, Jane goes missing that night during the Spring Rose Festival. There is no more serenity in Serenity Falls. Relationships are tested as the three girls' families: the McCallisters, the Kesowiches and the Harpers, face Jane's disappearance and the arrival of FBI Agent Leah Pierce (Jennifer Carpenter).

It feels like it's trying too hard to be edgy, but it could have been interesting for a full season.

2024-02-27 03:22:46 +0000 UTCGot this one when you posted it before. It wanted to be TWIN PEAKS soooooooooo bad, but basically took the plot without all the David Lynch quirkiness and atmosphere. The scene involving milk cartons in the supermarket would have been a tremendous bit of black comedy and poignance in Lynch’s hands, for example, but here it’s just awkward and kind of campy. But I applaud their trying to do something a little darker for network TV.
