Sea of Fire - Unaired 2014 Pilot

As you drive into this quaint town, the banner reads, "Welcome to Serenity Falls - Our Little Slice of Heaven by the Lake!" It's an idyllic lake resort where everyone knows everyone's business. That is, until Sheriff Marty Kesowich (Jack Davenport) is tipped off about an illicit film starring his teenage daughter Merel and her best friends Sonya and Jane. Before he can investigate, Jane goes missing that night during the Spring Rose Festival. There is no more serenity in Serenity Falls decimating it's brand as small town safe place. The three girls' families: the McCallisters, the Kesowiches and the Harpers, face Jane's disappearance and the arrival of FBI Agent Leah Pierce (Jennifer Carpenter) who faces her own skeletons.

Eh I always found Lynch overrated myself and never got what the big deal about Twin Peaks was(and i'm with Jim Sterling on one of the episodes of the revival being the absolute worst episode in TV history)so I honestly liked this better.

I remember this from an earlier posting -- it tries SO HARD to be TWIN PEAKS, but lacks that David Lynch sense of ominousness and absurdity. There's a bit midway through or so where (SPOILERS) the mother of the missing kid has a breakdown in the grocery store over the "MISSING" pictures on the milk cartons, and if Lynch had done it, it'd be an unforgettable scene contrasting the ridiculousness of the literally spilled milk with the real grief and fear...and here, it just plays as over-the-top melodrama. A swing and a miss, but it takes a certain amount of chutzpah to try and recapture the feel of one of the most iconic cult shows ever.
