WIP - Barret - Inks

I don’t have a ton of experience with the original Final Fantasy VII, but I absolutely adored Remake. Money’s tight but I paid for my copy of VII Rebirth early last month because I didn’t want to give myself an excuse not to play it when it comes out. The 28th can’t come soon enough.
With the new game coming out so soon, I figured it’d be a great time to do the obvious: a spicy illustration of heartthrob-with-a-problematic-voice-affectation, Barret! Despite the unfortunate creative decision around the vocal performance, he still comes across as a fairly three dimensional character, and ultimately is very sweet and cute between all those grumpy grunts. I’m a sucker for a hard exterior/soft interior type, perhaps.
This is one that I plan on finishing this week so I can have prints available at the art market at Trustworthy Brewing Co. here in Burbank on the 24th (that’s next Saturday), 4pm-10:30pm. It’ll hit my etsy shop after that, though, so don’t worry about missing out If you can’t come say hi and buy some stuff from me in person. :)
