WIP - Clamshell - Inks

I'm totally revamping this piece. I've literally got four versions of it in my general WIP folder (the one here is version five), all variations on attempts at doing a painted piece but feeling really uncomfortable with the progress I was making each time. I'm out of practice with painting digitally and frankly, I want to find a method that works better for me.
I love the overall concept of this piece so I was determined to keep at it, not wanting to ditch it entirely in frustration. This will be a painted piece but in a different way, and I'm excited to make progress on it. I just generally really love where it's at for the moment, using the concept of being underwater in a way that feels playful. For now, here's the inks!
I'll probably show the four failed versions before it when I post the final version (or a detailed WIP post), so look forward to that! Sometimes, art is a struggle! It's good to be open and honest about that, I think.
